Author: Joss Whedon and others
Series: This is part of the graphic novel sequel to the show BVS. It's pretty good.
Genre: Graphic novel, superhero
Setting: Varied, but it all takes place after the end of the show.
Reason for Reading: I read the first few issues before they started getting collected and wanted to see where it went.
Finished In: Days.
Pages: With graphic novels it's hard to tell. I'd say they're forty pages each, give or take.
Copyright Date: 2007-2008
Cover: First cover shows Buff and a vampire. Second, Buffy and Faith. Third, Willow, Buffy, and Xander. Fourth, Buffy fights Melaka with an evil Willow behind her.
First panel: Shows the sun coming out from behind the earth, as it would be seen from space. "Thing about changing the world... once you do it, the world's all different."
Themes: Family, magic, betrayal.
Best part: There are a number of fun sexy scenes and some of the plot is very interesting.
Worst part: The fourth volume seemed rather contrived to me. Like, "Oh, we said this was the future of Slayers, so I guess we'd better bring that in somehow!"
Imaginary Theme Song: I'm going with "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele. Whedon could have done anything to us with this series and most BVS fans would have gone for it.
Grade: B for the first three volumes, C for the fourth.
Recommended for: Fans of the television series.
Related Reads: Tales of the Slayers was a good one. Most of the other Buffy comics are not worth reading IMHO.
