The work mostly involves doing basic computer maintenance (Windows updates, virus scanning) and teaching women basic computer skills. There is occasional low-level troubleshooting, like "Why won't the speakers come on?" or "Can you make the Internet come back?"
The CWC appreciates its volunteers a great deal. I've had a lot of positive experiences working here. I plan to continue but they could use a few more people.
If you are interested, you can fill out a volunteer application on the website, or you can call Ming at 617.354.6394 x 17. The Center is open to all who live as women fulltime.
