Quicksilver by Amanda Quick

Title: Quicksilver
Author: Amanda Quick
Series: Arcane Society
Genre: Fantasy romance
Setting: England. The exact year is unclear.
Reason for Reading: I'm totally hooked on this series.
Finished In: Hours
Pages: 342
Copyright Date: 2011
Cover: A woman in a white shift rolling white stockings up her leg. What this has to do with the plot, I have no idea.
First line: "The visions of blood and death blazed violently in the mirrors."
Themes: Unconventional households, psychic powers, romance, independent women.
Best part: I liked the family relationships - the Sweetwater clan, and Virginia's family were really fun.
Worst part: The lack of historical authenticity started to hit me a bit with this one. Particularly with the language. There is period slang for bedroom activities. It exists.
Imaginary Theme Song: Mirror
Grade: C+
Recommended for: Anyone hooked on the series. For those not involved I don't think it's a great place to start.
Related Reads: Second Sight and Running Hot continue to be my favorites in the series.
